Why should I eat #charliesballs?

Everything is gluten, dairy, refined sugar free and vegan. We’re all about being the positive change in the world and truly believe that a treat a day keeps the binge away. Real treats made by real people with a real goal to change the way you feel starting from the inside out. Clean Treats is about the PHYSIOLOGICAL change that occurs when you choose real food. It's an act of SELF LOVE when choose Clean Treats.

What do I need to make the mixes?

All you need is Rice Malt Syrup, Coconut Oil, and a whole lot of love and some self control so you don't eat the entire mix 🙈

If you’re making our Banana Bread you’ll also need Flaxmeal, Nuttelex, Almond Milk as well as Rice Malt Syrup and Coconut Oil. You can find these at your local supermarket or health food stores.

What can I substitute for Coconut Oil?

We generally don’t recommend substituting as coconut oil is a bit of a raw treat #superstar full of natural plant based nourishment but also has special properties that help give our #balls their shape and texture! Our products are treats though, so like anything moderation matters. Eating jarfuls of Coconut oil = bad..... eating a little with other beautiful unprocessed ingredients = good.  It helps curb the binge and satisfy the sweet craving and keeps you away from preservative full alternatives. If keeping at the healthiest end of the spectrum,  stick with unrefined coconut oil.

If your dietary requirements don’t allow for coconut oil, you could use another healthy plant based oil (We love raw, unrefined macadamia or apricot kernel, which would give your #balls a delicious creamy, nutty flavour) - but we would suggest experimenting with the right amount as to keep them firm and not too runny - a good rule of thumb is less is more! Did you know you can also make your balls into yummy slices instead? We’d recommend trying this when using a coconut oil substitute, as it may help them hold their shape better.

What can I substitute for Rice Malt Syrup?

We at The Clean Treats Factory love rice malt syrup because it’s harvested from wholesome organic brown rice and has a nutritional profile that makes it a slower-releasing source of energy in the body - as well as being less calorically dense than sugar! If your dietary needs don’t allow for rice malt syrup don’t fear, there are alternatives available such as agave syrup, coconut flower nectar, 100% pure maple syrup or even honey, although we would suggest experimenting with the amount you use to get the perfect balance of sweetness and texture!

Are your treats safe to eat or drink if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

We always recommend seeking your doctors advice first before trying anything out of the ordinary. In saying that our teas are super safe, gentle on the body and a great way to get medicinal properties. We do have a warning label on our  Lemon Bye Bye Bloat tea during pregnancy because of certain naturally occurring compounds in lemongrass that may be scientifically linked to adverse effects during pregnancy - but don’t fear as our original Bye Bye Bloat is not only delicious but does not contain lemongrass!

Although we know many women enjoy epsom salts safely during their pregnancy, (And what’s not to love about a soothing long soak surrounded by the scent of vanilla, coconut and luxurious fresh rose petals?)  - we do have our little warning label just as a precaution as epsom salts are a concentrated form of magnesium and may interfere with certain prescription medications.

If you’re ever unsure, it’s best to check with your medical practitioner and they can advise you the best choices for both you and your bubba :)

Where can I find the nutritional info/ingredients?

How long will my treats last?

Our #balls will last up to 4 weeks in the fridge once made and have a generous lifespan if the packet is left sealed…but if you’re anything like us and prefer fresh #balls you’ll probably open them as soon as you get them.

How long do they take to make?

Our balls are super easy to make and will only take you 10 mins to roll and put in the fridge to set. Our Banana Bread and Sticky Date Pudding are from our bake range and will take longer. Don't worry though, which ever treats you decide to try we promise our step by steps are fool proof.
